Procida, an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, is situated at the entrance to
the Gulf of Naples, between Ischia (to the west) and Cape Miseno (to the east).
With a surface area of four square kilometers, it is the smallest among its
sister islands Ischia and Capri, but it counts almost 11,000 inhabitants,
“Procidans”. To the west of Procida in the direction of Ischia, and
connected to Procida by a bridge, there lies the uninhabited isle of Vivara,
completely covered by Mediterranean scrub.
